The Breathe3D mask is a 3D Printed mask designed to protect you from injury or the spread of infection or illness. During this pandemic the Design Corps has worked with essential healthcare professionals and the 3D print community to design the Essential3D personal protective equipment (PPE) product line to offer inventive solutions that solve PPE shortages across the globe. The Essential3D Product Line is an outcome of the 100M Mask Mayday Studio Program. The Breathe3D Mask was designed as a replacement to the N95 Mask and is derivative of the original Montana Mask created at the Billings Clinic a member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network.
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and The World Health Organization, the usage of masks reduces the spread of COVID-19 by up to 85%. The most effective masks offer a physical barrier to the enviroment. This begins with a well-fitted seal and air filtration strong enough to prevent transmission of infectious agents.
This is why the Design Corps researchers used facial scans and recognition data to identify form fitting mask materials and sizes that deliver ergonomic fit, comfort, seal and breathability for 100% of the global population in active environments. The Breathe3D mask is made with FDA-compliant, ISO-certified, Antibacterial 3D Printing Filaments and hospital grade, reusable, washable MERV-13 filters. When fitted to your face, the Breathe3D mask achieves approximately 95-97% filtration. Read about Breathe3D Care & Usability and The #MaskUp 101!
The Breathe3D mask design is sustainable ingenuity that aims to reduce medical waste and pollution. Each mask can be molded to your face, sanitized and reused. The Breathe3D mask meets The United Nations Sustainable Goals 3, 6 and 13.
The Breathe3D Mask is printed in Hawaii, California and New York using FDA-compliant, ISO-certified, Antibacterial 3D Printing Filaments.
Every Breathe3D masks comes with:
1 - Foam Seal
1 - Filter3D AIRx Health MERV13 Filter
2 - Soft Elastic Ear Bands: Rounded double-band elastic carefully engineered for comfort and fit.
1 - Free Ear Savers Eliminate Ear Strain & Fatigue: Ear savers are mask accessories that reduce tugging ear distress. Ear savers will not just make your mask more comfortable to wear—they also function as a new fashion accessory that you can mix and match with your masks.
The Filter3D AIRx Health MERV13 Filter traps respiratory irritants, smog, bacteria and viruses for health protection. MERV stands for Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value and is an industry standard to rate a filters efficacy. Ensuring that your filter fits properly in your mask means making sure that you have not only the right length and width, but also the thickness of your filter. Filter3D uses AiRx Health filters that trap and lock ultrafine particles that effect your health. AiRx Health filters are made in Greenwood, Indiana with great attention to quality.

While we print Breathe3D masks to fit a wide variety of facial sizes and dimentions, everyone’s individual face will be different.
To create a custom fit of the Breathe3D mask, remove the filter and foam seal. Using a hair dryer or steam from boiling water, heat the top of the mask for 15-20 seconds to make the Antibacterial PLA more malleable. Once it has been softened, simply place on your face and mold the mask to your liking.
Make sure to allow the mask to cool completely before replacing the foam seal and filter.
Breathe3D masks are reusable, but each person should have their own. Masks should not be shared, left in hot cars or hung on the rear view mirror. Breathe3D masks should be cleaned and disinfected wtth soap and water or a non-toxic disinfectant or a medical wipe. Make sure to practice good hygiene by your washing hands before and after changing filters and removing mask. Make sure to clean mask often, change filter often. 3D Printed Masks And The Healthcare Community
Face masks are an additional step to help slow the spread of COVID-19 when combined with every day preventive actions like social distancing in public settings; Washing your hands often with soap and water for at least 60 seconds and avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
Save A Life! Wear A Mask
& Social Distance
Everyone should wear a face mask when they leave their home and go out in public. Masks offer a simple barrier to help prevent respiratory droplets from traveling into the air and onto other people when the person wearing the cloth face covering coughs, sneezes, talks, or raises their voice. This is called source control. Emerging evidence from clinical and laboratory studies that shows wearing a mask reduces the spray of droplets when worn over the nose and mouth.
